i've a jar with a batch my grandfather made
i think he made it about 1970 as we bought a ruski rifle and he had to redo it and made up the mix then its just methylated spirits some turpintine and the extracted oils from the beets and tobacco ,, keep the turps and metho in the mix and it should be ok for years , let it dry out and it'll set hard and be wasted , nicotine goes like a thick oil and seperates and then breaks down but is preserved in methylated spirits ( denatured alcohol ) |

I'm getting my fall garden ready, and will probably plant some beats, love em! Put up several qts of frozen peaches this year. I did 48 jars of peach perservs year before last, and am still eating on those!

Nice, you guys must have got the rain that we've been missing...lol
I've got a nice sized garden out, but have been watering it from the cistern and it's really low already.

Nice looking harvest there Hillbilly, I love roasted beets. Rub them with a little vegetable oil, salt and pepper then wrap in foil and shove in a 350 oven for about 45 minutes. That's the way to go, or beet salad.
