Default This Room

I came into this blank and dark room, to see if anyone was here.

I opened the door and nothing did I see but a board that was gray and bare.

Write a poem or a little sonnet it doesn't matter which. Just write us something and leave upon it, to let us know that you were here.

YOU'RE RIGHT THAT POEMS ARE LIKE THAT
JUST TRY A LINE OF TWO;
IT'S EASY ONCE YOU GET THE HANG
AND TURN GREY SKIES TO BLUE.

TRY ONE FOR A SICK FRIEND
OR TRY ONE ON A SCAMP;
JUST PEN ONE FOR YOUR LADY
SHE'LL THINK YOU AS A VAMP.

AND CRIPES, THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE
SOME SOUL BEARING THING;
AS LONG AS WORDS GET STRUNG ALONG
AND HAVE THAT CERTAIN RING.

DEPART A TAD FROM TRUTH, YOU CAN
'TIS ACCEPTED AND AGREED;
OR SWEAR A BIT IN CIVIL TONES
IT'S LIKE DANCING WHEN YOU LEAD.

POEMS CAN BE USED AS FINAL WORDS
FOR SOME DEPARTED FRIEND;
FOR BIRTHDAYS WISHES OR GET-WELLS
OR LOVE AFFAIRS THAT END.

I HAVE TO FINISH THESE QUICK WORDS
BEFORE IT BOOTS ME OFF;
NOW TRY YOUR SKILLS WITH WEAVING WORDS
THIS SKILL MAKES YOU THE BOSS!!

Dedicated to HOPE/ aka/ Miss Olive Drab who instigated the idea.

For Ms Army I'll try and say
That reading your posts always make my day
In the morning when I need a lift
I check and see that Hope has worked her shift!

Oh my goodness berto, you have caught me off guard.

I have been very busy and haven't had time to spin a yarn.

But do give me time and I will do my best, to get back here to pull my shift.

Hope you're doing well Hope, just haven't heard from you in a while and am wondering how you are doing.

How's the snow accumulation at your homestead?

As you journey thru your day
with skies of grey or blue
it's how you make your day
that makes the one called you

Be you grim or be you mean
or rude to those in need
your amount of friends will be lean
and loneliness your partner indeed

But start your day with a smile
and be sweet to those you see
it will make their day worthwhile
and your heart fill with glee

how's that for off the cuff Hope?

after my divorce I hadn't written anything for a while. Maybe I should start again. Thanks for reminding me.

see ya
