A friend of mine has aquired this rifle with serial #313XXX
full octagon barrel, about 40% condition. Can someone tell us when this rifle was manufactured and its value?

Hi sirgknight.......welcome to TFF.

Thanks Xracer. This seems to be a great forum. I should have surfed around a lot sooner. I told Allen (my friend) that I thought he had a real treasure in that 1873. I think it belonged to his great grandfather. Thanks for replying to my inquiry.

You're most welcome.
If you can post some nice, clear, photos of the rifle, we might be able to nail down the condition a little closer, and get a bit more accurate on the value. |
