Winchester model 54 lever action? - The Firearms Forum

I have come across a Winchester Model 54 lever action. I have research numerous websites about the rifle and found that the model 54 was only made in bolt action.

When I check the serial number, 35695, it registers as being manufactured in 1931 along with the Sears/Roebuck signature.

My question is, is this really a model 54 and what is the worth if it's in good condition?

That's a Sears model 54. It is a Winchester model 94, made to be sold by Sears Roebuck, and with Sears' name and model number on it.

That serial number, in the 94 list, would have been made in 1895. But the Sears brand guns were in a different serial number block. I have never seen a serial list for store-brand guns, so have no idea of when it was made.

Also, store-brand guns are not as desirable as name-brand. My best guess, if it is in good shape, is that you have a shooter, worth somewhere in the neighborhood or 100 to 200 dollars. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear, since the Blue Book puts a Winchester 54 with starting prices of 5 to 6 hundred.
