Default Mmmm good.

Worked night shift 10pm to 6am this morning, then 2pm to 10pm this evening. Now I'm sitting back with some piroghi and a few cold India Pale Ales watching Sopranos re-runs. Life is good, just thought I'd share.

Ya know, a move to Newfoundland is sounding better and better all the time, Oh, wait! No handguns allowed.

Never mind.

Polish, I make 'em the way my uncle's father did. Bacon, potato and whatever cheese is handy. He was the one who taught me the finer points of Polish dining.

He was a partisan during the war and until the day he died had the number he had tatooed on his forearm after his capture in '41 proudly displayed. He was a true SURVIVOR.

Rest in peace Mr. Mazurick. I'll miss our fireside storytimes.

So are there a lot of Polish Newfies? I kind of like the sound of that....

A couple of years ago we had a guy posting on here FROM Poland, he was pretty funny BUT he was a real "Homey" on some things like "The SU-35 can kick F-15 TAIL" and stuff like that...

But the FUNNIEST thing was his screen name, "GoGetBeer" and the fact that when either he or somebody he knew visited the US the neatest thing they saw was a sign in Central Park which said "No Alcohol Permitted" written in English and POLISH...

He took pride in that!

And your friend, the "Polish Partisan..." if he was captured in '41, (He's lucky he wasn't just shot out of hand!) that means he was a partisan from '39 to '41...he COULD have been fighting against the Germans OR the Russians, maybe BOTH....

HELL, a true Polak wouldn't have it ANY other way....Bring it ON! Sto Lat!

My father ALWAYS told me little snippits passed on for generations like :

"You ALWAYS have to keep your eye on those Damm Germans, they'll stab you in the back in a MINUTE, but it's the RUSSIANS you gotta HATE..."
