The .17 Ackley Hornet is not included in his volume #2-just in his volume #1 page 257:
".17 Hornet (Ackley) The .17 Hornet is one of the best ballanced .17 cartridges and is simply sort of an "improved" 22 hornet necked down to .17 caliber. This .17 cartridge can be loaded by using a compressed cahrge of 4198 without weighing. Up to 200 yards , the .17 Hornet has proven to be extremely deadly on small game including squirrels, prairie dogs, woodchucks, foxes etc. 25 gr bullet 11gr 4198 3300 fps 12gr 4198 3585 fps 11gr 4227 3390 fps 11.5 4227 3570 fps" no info on col is given |
