Gun safes are a must, but don't worry about spending a fortune for a $2000 safe. Spend $600 on a safe, and spend the rest to insure your firearms. Here is what the NRA offers.
1. Free firearms insurance for all members up to $1000.00 2. Addittional insurance for up values above that, I think up to $100,000, for pennies on the dollar. Exceedingly cheap. Please call them to enroll. I did. 3. Here is the best part. It also covers concealed carry firearms in your car, and say for example you have a total of 10 firearms. 2 are in the truck, 6 are in safes , and 2 are loaded and in the house for protection. EVERYTHING is covered. 100%. 4. So spend $500-$600 on a nice safe, or even less, and then buy the insurance. Also, you can still be covered even if you just have small padlock safes or no safes at all. My point is, don't spend a fortune on a safe. Buy a nice safe, but not for $2000, spend $400-$500 like I did and then insure your firearms also. Its so cheap to do it, especially if you can't afford a safe at all and just lock your firearms with padlocks and closets . etc.
