Default Tasty treats

store bought massed produced ones.

What's some of your faves?

Being the diverse group we are, we live in all parts of the country/world, and often cannot buy what someone else can.

My son and I did our semi-monthly grocery run today. He mentioned a girl from school said that bacon flavored ice cream was pretty good.

BACON flavored Ice Cream?
"Go see if you can find some".
Sadly, they didn't have any.

While there, he grabbed 5 bags of chips.
Cheeseburger flavored Doritos. These things are the bomb.

Which got me thinking about cheeseburger flavored ice cream.
What's not to like?

I don't know about the ice cream, that sounds kind of awful to me, but the Doritos sound good.

Personally, I like ketchup flavored potato chips, which are apparently a hugely popular item in Canada, but I am just seeing them in stores around here. I had to go to Canada to get them before! They have ketchup Doritos up there too, and those aren't bad.

I had some horseradish flavored pringles awhile back. Made my nose run and my eyes water, but damn good. Haven't seen any since.

Like the ketchup chips, too. Also, salt and vinegar, dill pickle (not the ones that taste like sour cream), cookies & milk...

I no longer munch on chips or crackers. Most contain high fructose corn syrup. That stuff if just too evil to put in your body.

I snack on fruit. But, I do have one 'treat' I enjoy very much. Dark chocolate. Lindt 70% or higher is amazing stuff.

My wife sends me out of my way to pick up some Uncle Rays pretzels. Getting to where a lot of the stores that used to carry them are now gone now and the chains don't carry them.

I mix my ranch style beans and whole kernel corn together in a pot and slow cook them while cooking dinner... Drain most the water off the corn first.

A nice piece of pepper bacon diced up in the mix seems to season things nicely as well.

Hmmm what else...

Oh... Someone mentioned ketchup. I LOVE Tabasco (preferably habanero tabasco) mixed in the ketchup when I eat fries. Many times I make a meal out of this stuff.

Tabasco makes Habanero? Gotta find that. Tabasco is usually way under-hot for me.
I advocate Sriracha highly. Garlicky and hotter than Tabasco.
Asian section, Wal Mart. Believe it or not.
I'll put it on anything but coffee.

Since my cholesterol went up, it's been Clementines and Navel Oranges. Clementines are only in season for a couple months out of the year.

Very good snack John. Cut them up with apple and banana and make a fruit salad.

Sriracha is the best hot sauce ever. Singapore noodles, Thai chili sauce, tacos, whatever. Dump it in. Except for when you want chicken wings, then I like Franks Red Hot mixed wtih Sriracha. Homemade Habenero salsa is pretty tasty too.

Look what I bought at the store the other day... On sale for the "2 for $3."

I told you I like chocolate! We Dutch boys often do!

I like cheeto's puffs, but they recently made them about twice as big as they used to be and I don't know if I like them as much now.

Cheddar Cheese Bugles! KC Masterpiece BBQ Lays, Oreo's, Devil's Food Cookies, Chips Ahoy, Nutty Bars, Flaming Hot Cheeto's, Taco Flavored Doritos, when you can find them , Twinkies, Cup Cakes, both chocolate and orange, Cheeze Whiz, roasted garlic Triscuit, Fried Pies - cherry, peach, pecan, apple, blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon rolls, powdered sugar donuts, smoked almonds, cashews, peanuts...................the list could go on.

Sadly, most of this good ol junk food I don't eat any more, but I can dream can't I?? Now, I carefully portion out my snacks and meals to keep my sugar in check, but boy do I remember the days when an ice cold 16 oz Coke or Pepsi (in a glass bottle) and a couple of cup cakes was a good breakfast for a growing boy!!

Texas has the best red grapefruit. Eat them like an orange for lunch every day while down here. In NH in the fall it's apples and in between it's dry roasted peanuts. Sweets are my downfall, put real Maple Syrup on about anything and I'm looking for seconds.
