Hello and Merry Christmas. I have a remington 513 single shot bolt action 22 rifle. I bought it from my brother inlaw. He said that he owned the gun for about 50 years and has not shot it for about 40 years. It has not been shot much.(maybe one box) I cleaned it and it shoots and looks very good. Any info on the gun would be greatley appreciated. Thank you..

The Remington 513 .22 has a 6rd clip; the 514 .22 is single shot; which one? Welcome to TFF. |

The 514 was made from 1948-1971. There was also the 514P; which had a ramp front sight and a reciever "peep" sight; otherwise being the same. (worth a litte more) .22short; long and LR. Without pics; value is a guess; so here's mine: $80-$120; based on your post. Last edited by 22shot; 12-25-2010 at 09:21 PM.. |

There is a small scw on the safety that you should often check for tightness. If lost, the safety is hard to find.

I got my 513 for my birthday in 1947. (I think, could have been '48) and it is still my favorite .22. I have a couple of 10-22's and a few pistols, but this has been my favorite for generations. My son learned to shoot with it, and now my grandson's are getting to shoot it. I'll give it to one of them one day. This sold new for less than $20!
