Tea Party Updates for this Friday - Nationwide!

Here's the updates for the Tea Partys being held this friday!
There will be some more big ones coming up on July 4th but I'll update those next week.

It's been less than a week since our last post about the Chicago Tea Party. Since then the Official Chicago Tea Party planning website and this have received a combined 20,000+ unqiue visits. We've also picked up about 2,400 email addresses over the weekend, and thanks to TCOT, along with Smart Girl Politics, American Spectator, Americans for Tax Reform, The DontGo Movement and the Heartland Institute, there are now a plethora of "Chicago Tea Parties" scheduled to happen this Friday, February 27th.

I am thoroughly disappointed that Boston hasn't taken part in this. It may not be the city it once was, but the people there are thumbing their noses at the founding fathers by not at least attempting to understand what everyone is protesting. Should they prove me wrong and participate, wonderful...until then...thoroughly and utterly disappointed.

Those of us that can't go should send messages (polite & professional ones) to our reps that day and let them know we aren't pleased with this HR1, or them if they supported it.

Even if we can't go, they've got to keep hearing from their constituents and what a better day to let them know yet again, that we don't approve.

Boston, LA and Chicago will have tea partys in July. They are in the process of getting the necessary permits and etc. Have no fear! Boston will have a tea party again!

The tea partys above are for this friday. I'll post the July tea party news after this weekend so it doesn't get confusing!

Thanks Lori. That is good to hear. I don't have any particular feeling towards Boston itself, but I figured they would at least want to try to reconnect with their fellow Bostonians from the past. To ignore the opportunity to connect with the past is to refuse the heritage of the past. Glad they came around.

The Iwo Vets held their reunion here this past weekend. This is the second time that they have graced us with the honor of hosting their reunion.

Hi Art!
First, welcome to resist net....it's a good site with alot of shared info. I wish they had a better set up though....a forum like this one is so much easier to read than the one over there. I belong to several groups over there and it's all good stuff there.

Second, kudos to the vets! I think that's so cook that they had a reunion! I love stuff like that! At both my dad's and mom's services, the Merchant Marines from this area came and paid them a tribute. I just loved them all!

Oh My Gosh, Lori. I have gone to tea parties, and have been writing letters and placing phone calls and meetup veiwing parties etc.. for quit some time, I am typically a very deep thinker and usually come up with all the angles but you blind-sided me with something i haven't even considered. PERMITS. OH MY GOSH. isn't that a shame. we need permits to abid by our constitution when we peacably assemble in public.

Welcome to the forum! And yep....sad but true....we need permits to do anything in this "free" country.
But keep up the good work! The tea party movement is spreading! Two big dates coming up.... April 15th and July 4th!

While WND has been tracking 170 individual tea parties across the nation, one group has announced it is planning rallies in 1,000 cities and towns on April 15.

The American Family Association, or AFA, is coordinating 1,000 Taxed Enough Already, or TEA, parties to be held at 12 p.m. in front of city halls across the nation.

The organization launched a Tea Party Day website just days ago so volunteer organizers may register their protests with AFA. The website also provides a list of other protests across the nation that are not organized by AFA.

Tell Congress to stop spending America into the ground! Sign the WND petition demanding lawmakers stop the bailouts, stimulus bills and march toward socialism and national destruction.

Michael DePrimo, special counsel to AFA President Tim Wildmon, told WND that AFA has been inundated with e-mails from citizens who want to attend or organize tea parties in their own cities.

"We're trying to get people to attend these and we're also encouraging others if there is no tea party in their community to start their own," he said. "All we're trying to do is really generate activity to try to try to get people to attend these rallies to really send a message to Washington."

Boy am I glad someone sent me a private message to let me know that the tea parties mentioned in the original thread were last month and not this month. I would have been really pissed if I ended up by myself in Cleveland. Damn senility is a pain.

It's too little too late. The destructive forces are in place. There is no turning this back now. I'm not saying lose hope, I'm saying, we must come to accept the fact that there is little to be done, but ride out the storm.

I understand your pessimism. It's hard not to get discouraged these days. However, in my working life I have had several jobs in which we dealt with sudden unforeseen problems on almost a daily basis. At times it seems like there is no viable solution and a high dollar item is scrap. Many just stop trying to fix the problem. In most of those cases when people put their heads together and tried different things we eventually got the problem solved. A good lesson for life I think. To try when all seems lost may lead to failure, then again it may very well yield positive results. To give up means you are assured of failure.

Oh, I'm not being pessimistic, nor have I given up. No way. I'm POSITIVE that the country in on a path to destruction, and POSITIVE that I can do nothing to stop it, nor can any of us. I have NOT given up either, as I have a family to provide and fight for. So, I'm totally motivated. I simply shared what IS, because, we cannot hope for anything other than what this country has coming.

I think the tea partys are a GOOD thing. People are waking up and making their voices heard.

Hell....if the vets didn't stand up and shout, the service men and women would be paying the bill for their injuries.... but they got heard.

I still believe that out of bad things.....good things do happen....and right now the people who never did anything are suddenly doing something and that's a GOOD thing!

Yep, April 15th Harrisburg, Pa. 12 noon at the capital building steps. then we're doing I believe may 2nd to honor our troops. and then there are unconfermed perhaps just wishful thinking at this point rumors of possibly Washington, DC. july 4th.
man, would'nt it be awesome to assemble the tea parties that are happening around the country and have them all join together in Washington all at one time. that could be a million person march.

That's too cool!

Since I work for an Accountant and I live in a 'Blue' state there aren't many marches around on April 15th. BUT....I did find one that will be happening on the 15th that's about an hour from my job but only 20 minutes from my house and I'm hoping I can get to it right after work.

I was looking at the one on July 4th in NYC but if they have one in DC I would love to go to that one! I wish I could find somebody from up here to go with me but then again....I travel everywhere alone anyway and meet people on the way! hahaha!
