From what I know the rifle which has a G at the beginning of your serial number means that it is not a pre-64 rifle. The original westerner was made before 1964 and then later in 1981 to 1984 they used the name again and built them in a variety of calibers. The later rifles were not built the same as the early models and the calibers I have listed in my book shows, .223,.243,.270,.30-06,.7mm Rem mag. and 300 Win mag. They came with 22" and 24" barrel lengths. From what I can gather they are very similiar to the standard model 70 winchester built at that time.
