model 88 question - The Firearms Forum

Does anyone have any expierence with taking the barrel sleeve off of a
88 "mauser". I'm not sure how to proceed, is it pressed on over the action or screwed on. I dont want to hurt it to get it off so I'd like a little feedback before I go to far with it.

Once you get the action out of the wood it should unscrew. Try some penetrating oil, its probably got some rust in the threads.
