Default Thank you meth heads

Today in Mississippi our governor signed into law a bill that made sudafed and other sinus medicine containing pseudoephedrine a "prescription only" drug. Now I'll have to take off work get a doctors appointment and pay a doctor to prescribe me sinus medicine. Because pseudoephedrine is an ingreadent in meth they take away my rights as a law abiding citizen to purchase suafed because criminals can misuse it. I hope they never find out crimminals misuse firearms in this state.

Can they do that? It's getting redundant but, that ain't right there. If you can't get to the doc, try a Nettie Pot. It's a pain, but relieves sinus pressure quickly.

That really sucks. You can't get it off the shelves here but you can get it from the pharmacist if you give them an ID. Your only allowed to buy 1 at a time and I think 2 a month.

Here it's behind the counter, they scan your DL and you have to sign a paper confirming the fact that you won't make meth out of it. The scan of the DL is to ensure you don't go down the street to purchase more.

I agree on the suckage of this.
I live on Sudafed unfortunately. My sinuses are so bad that I can't breath when I lay down at night.
Sudafed is the only thing that will clear me up without amping me up like a speed freak. I can't take the prescription stuff.

Our laws here in Louisiana are the same as yours. 2 a month with ID check/scan.

let the meth heads and all the other druggies have their stuff. then they can all overdose and that'll be less of them we have to worry about.

I don't really want to even imagine...either way it goes, I don't think it's going to be good. Instead of just frustrated, we're all getting down right steamed

Some of the criminals DO get caught.
But it's not from buying antihistimines over the counter.

More than likely it's cuz they burnt their trailer down.

Much like claiming that banning firearms will end firearms deaths.

Criminals are, and no amount legislation will change that.

God bless America?

When?

We have something similar in NC. But without the prescription requirement.

I think they should just let the druggies be druggies. I mean, without intervention, and a little proper parenting to keep kids from turning to drugs, the druggies would all eventually die out from drug abuse. problem solved, and they wouldnt have to ban harmless cold pills. Why cant the world just be simpler??? its kinda aggravating.

What they should do is legalize meth, like it once was, and tax the hell out of it. If people want to abuse it, they're going to do it if the stuff is legal or not.

Stop being stupid, legalize it, again, and tax it. This should stop the illegal manufacture of it. I'm sure the manufacturing of meth would stop if it was legally sold again. Therefor, no more stupid laws would need to be created and people with allergies or sinus trouble wont be punished for having allergies or sinus trouble.

Punish the sinus sufferer. This is justice right?

These drugges didn't get word from mama or dada so somebody's got to teach them a lesson. The prison thing doesn't work. How about when you catch a druggie red handed on one of those random traffic stops take him in and put him up on the whipping post. Give him 10 lashes! That will get their attention. Some people you just aint gona reach any other way.

But that is the vigilante in me talking. Don't nobody pay attention to me cause what the f do i know.

If half the men in this country would grow a pair we would not even have to talk about this foolishness.

And what's wrong with buying a pack of smokes? People smoke because they like it. If they don't like it anymore, they will quit. I think people use the excuse 'I can't quit, I'm too addicted' because they don't want to admit they still like smoking. That, or they don't want to be yelled at by loved ones who are trying to get them to quit when they don't want to.

So...the kids of the 60's opened the door for the kids of the 70's. I've never had a drug problem, but I'm not a virgin either.

Powders should NEVER be legalized EVER! That is nasty and I've seen my share of friends get lost down that road. It's ACUTE poisoning.

Take an MSDS to school w/an ignition source and get the point across! Get some of the survivors to do the teaching. Then maybe the kids will believe them. Those kids see those cops as an authority on law...they know they've never had any experience w/drugs personally so why should their stories make an impact on those kids...nope, get those guys like Perry, Richardson, and others who survived, but fight it everyday.

Kids can see through BS.

just my 2

nothing wrong with buying a pack of smokes. my point was simple, if meth was legalized the users would find the money to buy it no matter how much the govt taxd it. look at how much cigs are taxed.

the problem is that making meth takes something away from the sinus user and that infringes on me
