Single-shot or double-barrel muzzleloading firearms manufactured before January 1, 1901 are considered Antique Firearms in all States of Australia, and can be legally purchased, owned, (and in some states, used) without licenses.
i'll post the updated laws when they get passed but this is the ruling that was approved today at 3:30pm ( 4:01pm now wiki will be updated asap ) This is a FEDERAL STATUTE and will over ride all existing state laws i now no longer have to have a permit or licence just to have a flinter or cap shooter made prior to 1901. Next is the hearing on the new ammo tax as illegally placed it was brought in to cover costs of licencing but not 1 cent has gone to that and so we counter charged with section 138 BB of the crimes act , to wit , Obtain a benefit by deception , Fraud and that the funds Must be returned to their rightful owners all you aussies who have ammo receipts , hold em , you'll get your 12.5% surcharge back if that passes ( and it will be a no contest as no-one wants to face the results with a losing fight ) Thursday 9th August Supreme Court of Australia Canberra

muzzle-loading handguns and cap-and-ball
percussion-fired revolvers, police certification will be in the form Police Confirmation and Certification Form (B709D Form) This rule no longer applies , your entitled under the privacy act to have all your antique weapon info pulled and destroyed and i suggest you do so .. it'll cost $22 but a good investment if thats the only thing on the police registry cheers |

reality , we'll never have AK's here ,
semi auto rifles yes , we're close to that , have some special licence classes now for them soon for all shooters then the bunnies can really worry again .. but i honestly dont know what else we can really achieve we've smallish issues to go yes, but to totally scrap the licencing scheme and registration ? the UN would never allow it , we'd be a police state again if it got close we'd need a coup .. we can nibble at bits and pieces its the castle doctrimne stuff we really need to push , the right of self defence that we dont have thats the next real biggy now we are getting our guns back , we need the right to use em in emergency to defend ourselves , others or property or stock |

Great news Jack. I'm sorry I don't know the history of you folks loosing your guns but would be willing to read if you or anyone could point me in the right direction. Did you have all guns before? AK's, AR's, pistols, revolvers, ect, ect. or were you always limited?
I'll admit to my ignorance regarding Aussies loosing their firearms but if I dont learn the history, reasoning behind it I feel I would be doing my country an injustice not knowing how the world has worked on similar situations. |

i had AK's AR's RPD's Maxims ( WW1 captured) i even had a lilo ( world first proper rocket weapon, made for busting japanese bunkers )
i made AK's , we made lots of guns before , now , paper work , for a custom build its 18 forms and 3 inspections and proofing .. the penalties for the paperwork being wrong puts most folks off ... history .. take a look through these and it'll explain , US folks reporting on the situation .. http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=72997 http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=73102 what the enemy is up to http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=82746 http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/showthread.php?t=89775 |

me and three mates imported 100 SVT rifles and sold em in batches of ten to these folks
good days , no mass killings , crime was a drunken punch up or some junkie robbing a bank and getting 600 bucks and 12 years, or the government ... every body had at least a shotgun or .22 under the bed ... crime was actually falling when the laws changed . this past month we've had 81 shootings , mainly drive by's , in Sydney alone ... prior to gun control we had 11 shootings in a year ( lots of shooting in built up area at new years admittedly, lots of fireworks too but they where not malicious or aimed at folks or their houses ) gun control has been the greatest boon for the criminals ever Last edited by jack404; 07-23-2012 at 11:29 PM.. |
