I am looking to purchase a CCW pistol. I am not into revolvers for carrying purposes, just to help defend the castle. I am looking at the H&K USP-C .40 and the Springfield XD 3in. Sub-compact in 9mm or .40cal. I already own a Glock 17 9mm and 22 .40cal. Should I just get another Glock?? Maybe the 10mm??
Any suggestions?

why not just carry one of the other weapons you already have or do you just want a change?

Anyways, if I had to choose between your picks, I would take the XD. |

kar298 - I think a full size Glock is a little much to conceal. I know it isn't as bulky or heavy as a Browning or Beretta, but I was looking for something small and light.
John Y - I use the revolver as home defense only. I don't carry it. I also have a 12ga. in the house. I want to be able to defend myself and family in public as well so I want a smaller semi auto to CCW when I leave the house. Why the XD and not the Hk?? |

The difference between the HK and XD to me?
I think the XD is the best value. .40 S&W would be a great combo for a compact gun. |

Look at the compact glock series, like the 19, easy to hide under a tshirt but still have 15+1 rounds to get the job done.

Personally, i don't like the Xd's trigger...
It seems like those who don't like Glock triggers DO like the Xd's trigger, but i think there is too darn much dead space in it... Thats my 2 cents anyway. mike gn

To be frank, I'm not a fan of either Glock or the XD's trigger. I just answered based on ncglock's choices.
Personally, I'd go for a compact 1911 in .45. |

It's not one of your choices but a sig p239 is a nice choice....I like mine. Otherwise an XD is a decent choice.

I second the compact Glock. A 19C or if you like the .40 better a 23C. The 9mm is plenty with today's "premium" rounds, especially 15 of them!
