I bought the S & W Model 3000 12 gauge pump back in 1982- I understand it was one of the last long guns S & W manufactured. Can anyone tell me the value of this shotgun? It is in excellent condition.

I saw one in very good condition on a local used rack the other day. They were asking $199 for it.

The S&W 916 pumps were made by Noble, and the bolt carriers were prone to catastrophic failure. They then contracted to Howa to manufacture a stronger and more reliable design.
Howa made them for S&W, a Rem 870 improved clone, but nothing Remington will interchange. Mossberg picked up the 3000 pump and 1000 autos(Rem 1100 clone) after S&W dropped the line, but then Mossberg dropped it too after about 2yrs. S&W recently got back into the shotgun market by building and supervising their own plant in Turkey. S&W 3000P prices range from $150-$300 depending on model variation and condition. |
