If the number provided is complete, it is a late fifties rifle. Look on the lever attachment adjacent to the bottom of the receiver. There should be a oval stamp visible with a letter and number inside. A= 1949, B= 1950, C=1951, etc. The number is an inspector number. The letter dates the rifle.
Could be a Model F, an EG, or an R. The F is so marked near the rear sight on the right side, the EG has a schnable fore end, the R has a rounded fore end. All are checkered front and back. An EG would great, an uncommon find. If not still a good pick up for no money. Don't refinish it. It's a pre 1960 rifle, they are held in higher esteeem than those made after and are worth more. Think pre 64 Winchester type of thing.
