Default Sears (savage 340) when was it made?

Just picked up a Sears & Roebuck Mod 101.53521 (Savage 340) in 30-30. The barrel lug is smooth, the stock is Walnut with pressed checkering, the bolt handle is round. It appears to not have a serial number but I haven't taken the stock off yet. What date range was it made?

Savage manufactured this rifle from 1950 until 1985. There is a very good reference to this model and it's predecesor the Stevens 325 at this link:
