Default Took a couple of old friends shooting...

...and my shoulder is in pain from the experience.

Sunday evening I decided that I would take my M1 Garand and my 1903-A3 out to the range Monday morning to allow them to play for a little while.

Even though they are both a little older than I am, they still did very well. The 03-A3 ws made in 1943 and the Garand was made in 1944 and both are still going strong.

I fired them both at 100 yards and at 200 yards and here is the results. The first picture is of the M1 target and the other one is the 1903-A3 target. The 03-A3 can still outshoot the M1. I some how deleted the picture of the 200 yard target but all shots were at about the 7:00 position on a siloutte target (but still in the black).

I thought these were pretty fair for an old man using open sights at a target that he could hardly see!!

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'.....author unknown (but obviously brilliant)

Nice.
I doubt that I could do any better with open sights.

I shot for the first time in over a year a couple of weeks ago. It about killed me (hip) but it was fun.
