Default 1894 Winchester .30

I have a model 1894 Winchester .30 WCF, serial #62825. Has pat. Aug. 21, 1894, made in New haven, Conn. I would say it is in fair to good condition. It works. Can you tell me when it was made and the value? Thanks for any help.

Welcome Swan! How about some pics? If I looked up the Ser# right it is a 1896 model. Edit: I mean made in 1896.

As you can see my little digital doesn't take very good pic. It has a 20" barrell, there is a D stamped behind the trigger on bottom plate. Looks to me somebody refinished and reblued it.

Is it possible to take a pic of the whole gun?

I will give it a try but you won't have a good closeup full length. This 70 year old female isn't too smart with those fancy cameras.

I think I can see from the pictures the gun has been refinished and the gun appears to be very tired. I would say it is worth about $250.00.

Looks like the extra light model. Does it have a saddle ring?

There is a metal thing there but can not see how a ring would attach to it. There is no hole thur the thing on rear of plate near the butt. My son says it doesn't feel light weight and it has a kick to it.
