Question Iver Johnson SP.G. Co holster identification

Hi,

This is my first post and hope someone can help me. I have an old I.J. holster I'm tryimg to find more about. It is about 12" long, brown leather. snap closure flap and belt loop. It carries the embossed label: Iver Johnson SP.G.Co. Boston , Mass. The belt loop is stamped with: 271 32 6. I assume the 32 6 means 6" 32 cal. The curious thing is that someone has hand engraved 272 above the 271. I would appreciate any information I can get about this. Thanks.
