Well, yeah, it probably would, Glock, but I was worried about the possibility of explosion.

If TFF ever really does have a get together we should be very very carefull about ron and marlin being in the same room at the same time.... Ron with his gass and Marlin with his oxygen tanks....AND an open flame could just be a deadly combination !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey... Didn't the teacher always tell us if we were going to bring food to class we needed to bring enough for everybody?
I like red beans and rice. The last time I had any was in New Orleans after Katrina.
Gee you've got me hungry now...

On my way!!!
Actually I travel to Houston for business fairly often and occasionally get some red beans and rice. But, every time I'm down there it's crawfish etouffee and dirty rice at least once… Now that's good eating!

Made red beans and rice tonight. Did the pinto beans in a crockpot, then rice. Added a cup of Bush's chile and a bit of tabasco. Had corn bread left from a couple of days ago. Hogged it all down! Would have added a few boiled shrimp but was out. Adding shrimp and okra I guess I am moving into jambalaya land??? Still have some corn bread that will go into sweet milk! Um, um, wonder what the po' folks is doing???

Man that sounds good! I'm a mudbug connoisseur, but have never tried Etouffee... But I love rice and also cayenne pepper so I'm betting I'd be in heaven.

ROTF!

Or trying to get the shell off the one in hand, looking down at the table (along with 5 other hungry Texans) at the last one.

The problem is the EVEN number. ALWAYS use an odd number of beans, 239 or 241 will work! This even-odd stuff applies to all things in life .... like being born on Friday the 13th!! Much better than the 12th or 14th!

Ron is my brother but I haven't seen him (THAT Ron) since 1975 and that was unplanned. He lives in British Columbia, neither hunts nor fishes .... raises roses ... probably eats sushi with his Fr-Canadian spouse . I apologize to all the Forum for him!. Actually not a bad guy, just nothing in common except genes. I am not gonna talk about roses and aphids and he is not going to talk about guns and airplanes! So ....
