I'm guessing you pro's are way ahead of me, but it was just a few months ago I got the idea of using dental tools while cleaning my guns. The pick tool and the scaler are quite handy for getting into those hard to reach places. The set of tools I bought included one with a small round mirror on the end and has a small light that shines on the mirror so you can stick it in a rifle chamber and really see if you are getting all the gunk out.
Just an idea I thought I would share in case some of you have never tried it.

I just bought a six pack of dental tools at unclaimed freight for cleaning guns. They get that black residue out of the .22s really well.

Good idea. I might have to get some.
The reverse could work as well. I was born and raised in southern Louisiana. I've seen some Cajuns with big enough gaps between their missing teeth that they could probably use a Bore Snake for dental floss. ![]() All the best, Glenn |

I have a set of picks, that the original use was for taking the "O" rings out of hydraulic cylinders when rebuilding them. They are made of brass, so they don't scratch iron/steel. (well, not much) I have found many uses for them over the years, and I have not rebuilt any cylinders in a while. If it takes more than a toothpick, that is what I go to.

I've been seeing them being sold at gun shows for years but just never considered buying a set! I does make some sense that they would work in helping clean down in the chamber area, probably work very well in the AR 15 chamber area.

Dental tools are kind of like duct tape. Soooooo many uses. I have some myself I bought at a pawn shop. Nope I don't use them on my teeth, but I have found many jobs for them over the years.

I'll use anything that makes cleaning easier and faster. Air compressors to pipe cleaners, whatever works.

Another handy little cleaning tool is the small plastic handled flossing brushes from the dentist. Just the right size for cleaning out peep sight apertures and similar stuff. |

Everytime I get around dental tools, my sphincter clamps shut and my blood pressure soars.

They do really well in the AR chamber. I use them all the time. If you have a Harbor Freight near you they carry tons of them.

Dental tools? DENTAL TOOLS? Those are not dental tools that are being used by gun owners for cleaning their guns. Those are gun cleaning tools that are being used by dentists to work on teeth! Keep yer powder dry, Mac.
