Cat translation dictionary
Volume I -- Common phrases

Cat phrase - Means

miaow - Feed me.

meeow - Pet me.

mrooww - I love you.

Miioo-oo-oo - I am in love and must meet my betrothed outside beneath the hedge. Don't wait up.

mrow - I feel like making noise.

rrrow-mawww - Please, the time is come to tidy the cat box.

rrrow-miawww - I have remedied the cat box untidiness by shoveling the contents as far out of the box as was practical.

miaowmiaow - Play with me.

Miaowmioaw - Have you noticed the shortage of available cat toys in this room?

mioawmioaw - Since I can find nothing better to play with, I shall see what happens when I sharpen my claws on this handy piece of furniture.

raowwwww - I think I shall now spend time licking the most private parts of my anatomy.

mrowwwww - I am now recalling, with sorrow, that some of my private parts did not return with me from that visit to the vet.

Roww-maww-roww - I am so glad to see that you have returned home with both arms full of groceries. I will now rub myself against your legs and attempt to trip you as you walk towards the kitchen.

gakk-ak-ak - My digestive passages seem to have formed a hairball. Wherever could this have come from? I shall leave it here upon the carpeting.

mow - Snuggling is a good idea.

moww - Shedding is pretty good, too.

mowww! - I was enjoying snuggling and shedding in the warm clean laundry until you removed me so unkindly.

Miaow! Miaow! - I have discovered that, although one may be able to wedge his body through the gap behind the stove and into that little drawer filled with pots and pans, the reverse path is slightly more difficult to navigate.

Mraakk! - Oh, small bird! Please come over here.

ssssRoww! - I believe that I have found a woodchuck or similar animal.

mmmrowmmm - It is certain that the best tasting fish is one you have caught yourself.

mmmmmmm - If I sit in the sunshine for another hour or so, I think I shall be satisfied.

Mreoaw - Please ask room service to send up another can of tunafish.

Mreeeow - Do you serve catnip with that?

mroow - I have forced my body into a tiny space in order to look cute. How'm I doin?

There I go again, stickin my big foot in my mouth. Being single can be good or bad depending on the situation. 26 years ago it was wonderful for me... getting rid of the first Mrs that is.

My kids got some kittens a few years back and I wanted to name them all, Target, Bullseye, Xring and Dead cat, well they only let me name 1 and Target it was. You should see this cat now it has no ears and only half a tail. It's the only cat that will come near me,why I do not know

. This danged thing even has enuf nerve to go into my coon hounds kennel and drink from his water bucket,but it wont eat from his dish any more. As for this seafood topic SM is too much of a ladie for me to even go there

What is it about cats that are somewhat disfigured/lame and dogs?

We've got five cats. One of them, Angel, is a long-haired, white ex-tomcat with a crippled right-front paw. Kinda bends to the left and doesn't quite reach the ground when he's level. Gives him sort of a rolling gait when he runs.

Angel likes to go over to the house across the street and eat out of the Rottweiler's and Pit Bull's food bowl. Samson, the Pit Bull, will run up to Angel and BARK! Angel will lay down right in front of the dog and look at him as if to say "You have GOT to be kidding, right?" Samson will then turn away, obviously frustrated that this cat won't play right.

Angel sounds like he's figured out how to handle dogs. A cat that doesn't run when barked at always confuses dogs.

Got any pics of Angel?

bigboom338, Target sounds like a tough ol' cat as well. Post a pic if you have one. I used to have an old tomcat years ago named Tom that had several battle scars from various fights. He was a pretty tough customer.

Over 20 years ago, when I was growing up in Houston, we were adopted by a stray ex-Tom that we named "King Tut."

The meanest, baddest dog in the neighborhood was scared of Tut. Tut's favorite tactic was to annoy the devil out of a dog, then run under a car, twirl around and let loose with a fist full of claws.

To the family, he was a big sweetheart.

Target is a pretty small female kitten factory who just had a litter a few weeks ago guess where?
A little to close to old Will's kennel. The rest is a little sad to some, but it saves me on dog food.
