Morning Beth. I've never used one as I have a cabinet made of 1-1/4" oak, but have a friend that uses them in his safes and speaks highly of them.

I've not tried one either. I made one that sits on my dresser that holds six hand guns. The only time mine go into the safe is when I'm not home.

I've got a couple of these.

http://www.lg-outdoors.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SS_77245

Two of 'em on the shelf hold's 12 guns, and you can get to each gun easily. If you only have that many, that's fine. If you have more than the racks will hold, you can't stack the racks. If you had, say, 15 or 20, you can keep them in the boxes they came in (that's the nice thing about the boxes - it gives you a place to store them) and stack 'em on the shelf. You gotta dig through the stacks to get the one you want, but that's what you gotta put up with for having many.

I use these holsters that have velcro that sticks to the safe liner.

My shotgun I have by my bedside, and in the day time I have it over the fire place.
My 38 revolver, is under my coffee table, and will carry with me, if I travel. My Contender, I keep in the bedroom closet.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get to the gun range tomorrow. I'll take them all with me.

That is a neat idea, do you have any problem getting the door closed, my shelves seem to be pretty close to the door when shutting!

I've got two different sizes - a 4 gun and a 6 gun. Think I got 'em from Cabelas. Anyway, the 6 is 16 1/2" wide and the 4 is 10 inches. They are both 5 1/2 inches deep.

Need to do some cleaning in there, don't I?

I bought a pocket rack for my safe that does very well. The only problem is that I still do not have enough room!

Beth, I got them where I got my safe. I think that you can look up up Ft. Knox safes and can find them.
