Has anyone heard any news on where we stand on the assault weapon ban sunsetting?

We's bee's on the losin' side...'course ya got a pre'ban same as me...so I reckon the gun's are still gunna be high in value...

The press has been eerily silent on the matter ever since the Republicans stated that they doubted there were enough votes to renew it. I'm sure the press is biding its time, waiting for a nice juicy school shooting, before bringing the subject up again.
