I am thinking about buying a rifle caliber pistol. (singlt shot or bolt action) not sure which yet any opinions. I am wanting somthing that will stop hogs in GA. So stopping power must be that of a 140gr bullet in a 308 rifle. I want to put a 4x scope on it also. I have plenty of time to think about it. I am still in the sand box. Let me know.

How about a 458 JDJ in a Thomson Center. Not only will the muzzle blast get their attention, it will clean them too!
All kidding aside, the .308 in the Savage Striker comes to mind! A good 150 to 180 gr bullet will always do it's job! Also look at all the JDJ rounds if you reload. If not, stick with normal over the counter rounds. Stay low and stay well, Ray. Semper Fi Rick
