Default S&W 638

Well, I picked up my new S&W 638 yesterday, and as with any new acquisition, I am anxious to get out to the range and see what I can do with it.

Neat little gun. .38 Special +P...

An excellent snubbie, coho! The 638 is the hammerless version as I recall. I own two 637s which are identical aluminum frame revolvers except that they retain the exposed hammer. Both of mine have served me very well indeed.

Pistol, the 638 has a shrouded hammer. I chose it so I could choose single action if desired...

I chose the 637 for the same reason, coho. I like to have the capability of single-action use if I need it. I forgot the 638 simply shrouds the hammer rather than making the revolver DAO.

I hope you enjoy it, I've wanted a S&W snubbie for a long time.
