Anyone seen or tried this new 3.8" barrel Springfield XDM? Looks pretty cool. Springfield makes some fine weaponry. Looks like it would make a sweet carry piece.
Also, what exactly is different about a Mil-Spec 1911 compared to a GI 1911? All I noticed was that the sights are different.

I think they are made in Croatia but they are fine pistols. I like the way they fit my hand and can see one in my future.

I carry the xd9 subcompact, it just kinda stings to see a gun that was $350 two years ago double when they went to the "M" I don't think that vast amount of improvements were made to justify such a price jump. I think "M" buyers are now paying for all of the televised ads, and yes they are mfg in Croatia, but the SA 1911's are made in Brazil.
