Default Family hand me down..... any info ?

This pistol belonged to a friend's uncle. Not looking to sell, but would like more info, if anyone has any.......

right side
"MIROKU"

left side

.38 special caliber

on bottom of grip frame it says:10908 Japan
It's a 6 shot.

With the cylinder latch where it is located I would say a .38spl Colt Copy. Value maybe in the 150-175 range.

Most references don't even mention Miroku, if they do so it is in reference to their shotguns. They made at least two revolvers, one, a 6 shot Liberty Chief and a 5 shot , Special Police, both based on the Colt design. The Standard Catalog states 1965 to the mid 80's. However, I think the handgun production stopped in the late seventies when Japan passed their present restrictive gun laws. They were never imported in large numbers and most people have never heard of them. The ones I have handled seem to be of very good quality but again there is very little information of priceing. Just a WAG but I would say 200 to 250 in in exc condition. Hope that helps
