Default Prayers, please UPDATE

FirstInLine's father is in serious condition. He has a long standing heart problem and has been on a pacemaker for quite a few years. A couple of days ago, it started acting up and he finally got bad enough that he consented to going to the hospital. Heart problems, pacemaker flakey, kidney failure and such in a 90ish old hard worked body.

They needed to transport him from the little town in which they live to Las Vegas (85 mi,) but weren't sure he would last the trip. We got word this afternoon that he is now checked into SouthWest Hospital in Vegas and things are looking a litle better. Still no schedule for surgery and one not expected for a day or two.

FirstInLine is flying down tomorrow to meet up with her sister and take up vigil with their mother.

Prayers for Ed would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Pops

Update: this just in.

Ed is doing quite a bit better. They have decided on no major surgery, but are sending him home in the next few days. They did install a filter to trap blood clots from getting to his heart and lungs. He asked if he would have to have his filter changed every 3000 miles.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

That's good news, Pops. How will they maintain the trap? What happens if a clot is caught? Will blood thinners do the trick

We will keep him on our prayer list.

Don't have the answers to any of that. FirstInLine is down there and I'm up here. She is not the type to dig very deep into such.

He wore an implanted de-fib for about 10 years and then went to a pacemaker. He wore one out and had another go defective within a couple of months of implantation. He has now worn out this third one.

The reason the Drs have decided not to do the surgery is that his odds are very poor for that much trauma.

Ed is looking much better. Yesterday, the Drs were still thinking of sending him home with a bushelof pain killers. This morning, they are thinking he might be strong enough by Tuesday for them to go in and remove the tumors in the bladder.

FirstInLine is returning to the homestead tomorrow.

Thank you all for your concerns and support.
