Not gona get into too much detail but last week I asked God why I keep having a reoccuring problem.
I got a phone call today and out of the blue my question was answered. It was direct and to the point. I just wanted to say than you Lord. If you ask you will get an answer. Maybe not the same day but if you listen it will come. The Lord is alive and well.

awesome bro, the Lord Jesus is good!
seems like He always answers when you don't expect, in a way you did not expect, and seems like it's never the answer you thought you would get!!! He seems to have a sense of humor in all this... ![]() |

The good lord also has a sense of humor...
Many years ago I owned a Fiat 124 Sports Coupe. Like most all Fiats, it was a pile. I had been working on it all weekend and had JUST got it back on the road and my wife and I were riding in it when something broke. I exclaimed "What else lord?" and no sooner had the words left my lips, something ELSE broke! My wife was trying her best not to laugh because normally I would have just lost it at that point but instead, I calmly said "thanks for the quick answer!" and have NEVER asked that again! |

good story... i think we all have one like that, here's mine...
i start out to make the two hour drive from college to home, and notice the gas tank is about 1/4 full, so i decide to chance it and see if i can make it home... i am sweating it all the way as the gauge was on E for the last 45' of the trip... i get off the highway about 3 blocks from home and say out loud "Thanks, Lord", and not 5 seconds later did i run out of gas!!! walked the few blocks home and got a gas can, but that was a total shocker to me... |

Never in my life that I'm aware of. I did the 'born again' thing and never felt accepted. I spent two years of holier than thou, and never felt the love.
I guess I'm not worthy. ![]()

Let me start this of by saying I NEVER pray or ask God for money. I just don't feel that is right. I ask for the strength to make it through a tough spot but that is it. Having said that, whenever things have gotten unbelievably tight my wife and I worry but we take heart in our faith and that we have always made it through the tough times one way or another and sure enough, it always works out somehow!
I can't tell you why it always works or how but it just does. Once we put it in his hands, we feel at peace and things fall into place. Understand, we HAVE to do OUR part. We don't throw up our hands and say "It's all you God! Bail my dumb tail out again!" No, we fight like heck and do everything in our power and exhaust every avenue open to us. That is our Responsibility. If we have done our part and have faith, we make it and I couldn't ask for more. |

![]() I never put any 'conditions' on God. My comment was directed at those I was surrounded by. Not once did it feel like family to me. It was more like people looking at me to determine if I was holy enough. Bad juju in my opinion. I'm far more comfortable here at TFF than I ever was at any Church I ever attended. Folks like you caneman, and many others here, offer your opinions with your 'best intentions'. That carries a lotta weight in my book. You care. Many of the fine people here actually DO care. Be it about firearms, religion, cooking, contributing to the site, technical info, what's it worth, you name it. Sharing and caring is what it's all about. In my opinion. ![]() So if that's the best ya can do to p*ss me off, yer gonna haveta try a little harder. ![]() ![]()

Bob, if God only communicated with those who were "worthy", no one on the planet would ever hear from him at all.
God DOES answer, ALWAYS. But he answers in HIS time, not OUR time. And sometimes we just don't hear him. 1 Kings 19:11-13 (KJV); "And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?" Too often we expect a great wind, an earthquake or a fire. We want to see the sky open and feel the ground shake with the resounding timbre of the VOICE OF GOD!! And while we wait for that, we ignore that tiny voice nagging at the corner of our brain - - God bless you, Bob - And please do keep listening -

I would really like to know what you mean by never felt accepted. You dont or shouldn't have to feel like your accepted by the members of the church. Something is not making sense to me. Once you understand what Jesus did for you it becomes a personal thing between you and him. Bob your a good man. I know you are. God does try to talk to you. I got discouraged many years ago with preachers. There is one guy i do listen to tho. Let me ask you if you had a girlfriend you really love and she was gone for 3 months and she sent you a letter, would you read it as soon as you got it? God left us the Bible. It is our sweetheart letter. Reading the Bible is tough so sometimes it helps to have a guide. Back to this guy. He comes on every Sunday morning on TV. He runs a Baptist church out of Alabama. Forget for now that it is a Baptist church it really doesn't matter. His name is Charles Stanley. YOu should be able to pick it up on tv, If not it is in touch ministeries. Look it up on the net. Now i am gona ask you to do this. Watch two of his programs. It's only 1 hour per Sunday. YOur not gona miss the time. Get up sit in your pj's with a cup of coffee. Turn him on and give it your whole heart and concentration. Just listen. I am only telling you this becasue i think you could benifit from it. It truly breaks my heart to hear a good man say God has never talked to him or that he doesn't feel accepted.

Bob , i dont fit in most "new" churches either
that's ok it's helped me find this place now .. its a bunch of older farmers and veterans and families but Home for me now churchwise ( wish it where closer.. ) i like what Paul Wrote .. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Last edited by jack404; 11-24-2011 at 10:51 PM.. |

Small correction cycloneman, Charles Stanley is out of Atlanta, GA. But, he does a great job on teaching us about the love of God.
@Bob, I understand how you feel about unacceptance. I've been there ALL my life in some way shape or form. But, Ive come to realize it's because of the "insight" God has given me in order to HELP others! I haven't fit into a church since I was 9yrs old. However, I've been a member of several over the last 25yrs or so. The one thing I've discovered during this time is there is "NO" perfect church. BUT!!!!! there is a GOD who is absolutely PERFECT in every single way! After my dad was killed in 1970, I spent the next 6-8yrs being abused & molested by two drug addicted stepfathers & a distraught mother. I did become saved during this time. But, the abuse & terror in my home didn't ever stop. I have since learned that God doen't promise us an easy trouble free life. He promises to help us through the troubles! I've also learned that NO man is perfect or sinless. As christians, we have just been set free from the "curse" of sin. One other thing I discovered along the way is God uses "some" people HE chooses to speak TRUTH into errors & lies that many churches have believed. I am a person whom God has used over the passed two decades to go into churches & help them find their way OFF the erroneous road that they walk. It seems God may have given you some insight to "flaws" within certain churches. Perhaps he is looking to you as someone that will "be strong and of good courage". Maybe he could be asking you to lovingly & selfishly endear yourself to "some" church in order to "teach" the leadership of it's erroneous ways. Maybe GOD has sent you to certain churches that need to be led BACK to the path of LOVE. Many churches have a love for God; but fall short in their love of others. Could God be seeking you "Bob" to serve him in this way? - Last edited by tcox4freedom; 11-25-2011 at 02:05 PM.. |

God answers all prayers, sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes you don't know the answer untill many years later. My darkest day ended up my best day, but it took me 40 years to find out. I was looking into my second grandsons eyes and remembered my worst day: my unborn child had died, my wife left me, and I lost my job. No job, no car, no money, nowhere to live, but it was my best day cause I got a 'do-over'.
