Everyone came to see you and your comrades- Were you happy to see us? It rained part of the time but you didn't seem to mind the raindrops. Did your family come? I don't know any but a cousin's wife who remembered you. Back when high school basketball and bobby socks were quite the rage. How I long to see your face just once- without the black marble glare of the sun and spotlights; to feel you-not the rock warmed by the sun-smoothed down by man and polished to a shiny gleam. The wall was so shiny. It's like the bracelet I wear- Your bracelet-your name and rank etched on it Did you like shiny things like jewelry? I've wore you for quite a while now. It's sorta weird sharing my everyday activities with a man so much older- one that's only there in spirit- one I've never met. Yeah I saw you last Friday, touched your name. You were warm and smooth and your name felt the same on the wall as it does on my bracelet. I'm glad you came to see me. One day I'll make it to see you. Gotta go. Love, Bree 092696 IF YOU VALUE YOUR FREEDOM, THANK A VET! More, please. high2fly *Senior Chief Moderator* Posts: 168 (9/7/01 6:39:40 am) | Del Re: A Letter To Reginald -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To covet another's abilities is human, to admire and appreciate that persons obvious talents, is surely devine. A very moving and thoughtful letter---a mysterious sense of feeling a need for a closure. So very touching, that I am undecided if it is a love letter or simply a testament of a devoted friendship. Realy and truly, a touching poem of someone that you had carried with you on a bracelet and to find him one Friday upon The Wall. Yet another poet/writer here at VMBB. Good Deal! hope6970 Moderator Posts: 556 (9/10/01 11:04:19 pm) | Del Re: A Letter To Reginald -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bree, a big ditto as to what Wilborn posted. He posted what I was feeling. Hope
