Default Good news from the Democrats

Democrat governors are starting to get worried.

Quote:
DGA sounds Tea Party alarm
By: David Catanese
February 3, 2010 03:57 PM EST

On the eve of the first National Tea Party Convention, the Democratic Governors Association blasted a dire fundraising e-mail to supporters, warning that the loosely organized movement has become a “truly dangerous” political force.

“These guys aren’t going away. They’ve proven they can raise millions in a matter of hours and they’re skewing elections across the nation,” wrote Colleen Turrentine, the DGA's finance director.

“Can you imagine the havoc they would wreak if they took office en masse?” Turrentine continued. “If they had their way, how many states would even stay in the U.S.?”

The National Tea Party Convention kicks off Thursday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn., and concludes Saturday with a keynote speech by former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

The electoral impact of Tea Party groups, however, remains an open question. While sections of the Tea Party movement have claimed credit for Sen.-elect Scott Brown’s surprise win in Massachusetts two weeks ago, it appeared to have only a limited impact on the Tuesday primaries in Illinois.

Conservative U.S senate candidate Patrick Hughes and gubernatorial candidate Adam Andrzejewski both touted Tea Party backing, but fizzled at the polls. Hughes managed only 17 percent against Rep. Mark Kirk in the Senate race and Andrzejewski finished fifth in a five-way primary for governor.

Turrentine also cited GOP wins in the New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial elections in her pitch to DGA backers.

“These angry, extremist Teabaggers will go to any length to crush every inch of President Obama’s agenda,” she wrote in her email.

“Stop them before it’s too late – sign the DGA’s petition to stand with President Obama and support his agenda. Americans, every one of us, deserve governors who will fight for the middle class — not self-serving politicians who kowtow to special interests whose political hero is Sarah Palin. But that's exactly what the GOP's Tea Party-obsessed candidates are doing,” Turrentine wrote.

FreedomWorks, one of the groups that works closely with Tea Party organizers, said the e-mail shows “the corporate shills in the Democratic Party are running scared.”

“Now that the American people have revolted against their closed door deals with the big health insurance companies, the Democrats are lashing out against the American people. The populist anger is rightfully directed against the Democrats and the big businesses that they colluded with to try and shove Obamacare down our throats,” said Brendan Steinhauser, who directs FreedomWorks’s federal and state campaigns.

A spokesperson with the DGA did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
I'm smiling, laughing, and giggling and I'm not even drunk.

I don't think they really know yet. From what I have seen and heard, there are a bunch of Constitutionalists gathering around.

And New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, Hawaii? California is a convenient whipping boy but, remember, Ronald Reagan came from there.

How many MORONIC Democrats are using the term 'teabagger' and not realizing that it may offend a large portion of their own base voters? You can't use the term in a derogatory fashion and then tell homosexuals that you support them. It doesn't go both ways. For one, I don't care if they alienate their supporters (actually, I think it's great that they are) but you have to wonder how stupid people like this lady and Keith Olberman really are to not think this through a little better...

yeppers, we are on the radar, the bigger the movement gets the more they try to dispell us as extremists or radicals . I think its funny that they are so stupid as to drive away their own supporters.

I love it! Strange, how when elections don't go according to the 'skript' - the results are viewed as "skewed". LOL!

My mother...bless her heart...told me I really needed to watch what I say, cause you never know who's listening.

I told her if "they" came to my house and actually got a hold of me...they can just take me straight to the soccer stadium.

So we are the extremists because we don't buy in to an extreme agenda? Keep talking folks come November the microphone goes away. We must build on the momentum as the left will lie, cheat, steal and smear. They are already starting as the jobs report came out and they mysteriously found a half million jobs they hadn't counted before and with a wave of the wand unemployment fell to 9.7%. I truly believe that a majority of the American people support the Tea Party's agenda of lower spending, lower taxes and freedom from big government. In short the Constitution.

Don't really want these states to fail. I just want them to adopt a responsible govt. and fix their problems in a responsible manner. It will take a long time to fix their problems.

Yep, and if they don't even want to recognize the problem, I say kick em out. We don't need to be bailing out states.
