231 may be one of the more common powders used for 45 loadings. For 230 FMJ, a good range load (for me) is around 5.2 gr. and 1.25 OAL. I've never used TG and, if I were you, I'd use the PP for hotter loads (although it is quite versatile, and it is pretty flashy when used indoors).

Hello,
You might also grab some Bullseye. 5.0grns/230grn will reproduce the GI load. Reduce 10% and work up. I shoot 5.2grns in some occasions, but that's starting to push +P, especially since it's backing hardcast lead flatnose for critters here around the place. Regards, Josh |

I load 230gr RN with
W231 5.4 grains CCI or Winchester primers If I want a little lighter load for my USPSA practices I drop down to about 5.1-5.2 Not that it matters but I shoot these loads out of a S&W 1911PD or Springfield XD45
