Down & Out Just A Tad ..... - The Firearms Forum

Two years have passed since I was able to attend our G 2/5 Marines Reunion and I remember well how many of you here assisted me through that ordeal which was held in Branson, Missouri of which it was my first time with some of the gang from the Nam days after so many years had passed.

This year it is being held in DC and a tad out of my reach both distance wise as well as financially not to mention having the little one to care for now.

I truly enjoyed the time a couple years back and with this years reunion drawing closer (end of Sept) I'm beginning to feel more and more depressed about not being able to be there but I guess I will get over it.

I have so much to be thankful for and yet on the other hand I get mad at myself for the way things are for me at this point in my life and I would imagine I will get over that some day as well. I envy a lot of my fellow Nam Brothers who are able to attend these functions and they have been doing so for many years in the past while I (and others) am unable to for various reasons but then thats what life is all about I guess ...

Some can and some cannot and even though I always tell myself that I will definitely be at the next one I always end up on the "cannot" side ...

Lifes too short and we're not getting any younger and altho (as stated earlier) this depresses me I guess that I am not alone as after seeing the list of those that will be in attendance this year there are quite a few names that were at the last one with me that will not be there as well so I rekon I'm not alone this go around which helps lighten the depression a bit ...

Still ..... I will miss them this year.

Oh well ...
