Just bought a new 870 12 gauge......When I bought it I also bought a synthetic stock to replace the wood one (not the nicest wood in the forest).....howwever I am at a loss as how to get the wood fore-end off and the synthetic on.....do i need a special tool for this? thanks for your help

If I remember right it just slides out of the reciever during dissambley to clean. You can download a owners manual here www.remington.com/whatsnew/readroom.htm
