Default Winchester Model 70

Hi, I have a Winchester Model 70, "7MM Remington Magnum" is stamped on the barrel also. Ser. # is in the 790,000 range which apparently means a 1965 manufacturing date. It is in perfect condition (I thought it was brand new when I first saw it but I am not even an amateur regarding guns). It has a Leupold 3X9 scope on it as well. Any idea of value on this one?

The Model 70's with real value were made prior to 1964. The one you own is likely a push feed rather than the mauser action. Still a nice gun but not one of high dollars. I have a Classic Featherweight that may eventually be worth something now that the Winchester plant is closed.

One of the boys with the gun blue book should be able to give you a pretty fair estimate. I'd say in the neighborhood of $450 depending on condition. Keep the scope, its likely worth near as much as the rifle.

Hi Tom......welcome to TFF.

Assuming that this a Standard post-'64 Model 70 Magnum, the Blue Book value is:

98% - $400
95% - $350
90% - $325

The scope would add to that value, but I don't know how much.
