Default S&W Model 39-2 rebuild?

A fellow I work with brought me a S&W Model 39-2 to take a look at. According to him it will not feed with either of the magazines that came with the gun. Upon inspection I could see that the entire gun was “dry”; no lubrication anywhere evident. Also both mag followers were damaged with pieces missing. At first I was going to just replace the followers and mag springs. However, this 39-2 appears to be over 50 years old and shows heavy signs of wear on the barrel shroud and lug areas. Question: should I buy entirely new magazines and re-spring the pistol with a Wolf kit? Some have said a new extractor would also be helpful. What say you? Thanks….
