Question Old NRA American Rifleman article

There was an excellent article in the NRA's American Rifleman back in the 1980s or early 1990s about a guy who had rifles stocked with dozens of different kinds of exotic woods - mesquite, maple, etc. and included pictures of many of these beautiful guns. Can anyone tell me the date of that issue and the author so I can try to find and purchase that issue? I had saved all the American Hunter and Rifleman magazines for nearly 20 years, but alas they were unable to make the move with me and my wife when we moved to our new place a while back. Thanks.

Welcome to TFF! I'm sorry I don't know the article you're talking about, but maybe one of our members will be able to help you out. In the meantime, jump right in and join in the fun; you'll find we have a great group of folks here.

Exclamation NRA article and my handle

All you riflemen who love beautiful wood gunstocks would drool over the pictures of these rifle stocks with so many kinds of unusual woods. The NRA says they might run the article again, or an update, but THEY don't know when it was published either! Help!
BTW, my handle is my initials plus the combination to my gunsafe - just kidding! Would you believe grandfather's WWII army serial number?
