People in hurricane prone areas know your pain. We live in an urban area and were without power in 2004 after hurricane Ivan for 13 days. Its really frustrating to see lights on the other side of the street 4 days before yours come back on. Generators are great, but most won't run whole house AC's. We ran a generator for lights, fans, freezer, and refrigerator. Weather in the 90's with the humidity in the high 80's.

The crews we sent to Florida last week to help with Debbie were recalled the next day and sent to the Virginias. With all the outside crews coming in, the power will be restored pretty quickly. You just have to be patient and think what it was like before all the mutual support agreements went into effect...

Good luck!

I would say you are indeed prepared.
Your location of Mountains of WV, told me right off that you were a good old boy. Remember that song "A Country Boy Will Survive." Well they will, it's us city boys that will be in trouble.

Actually I like the hills a lot better my self, but was born north of Columbus in Marion, and this is as far as I got. Last time I was at the Spring Nationals at National Trails was probably the eraly 80's, probably 81 or 82.

Like Rocketman I like your hills better Hillbilly. Born in KY but the family moved to central Ohio to find work a long time ago. But I got some hilly land in SE Ohio where we have our home made range set up.

National Trails Raceway sure brings back some good memories. We raced a '49 Olds back in the mid '60's, good times.

I had power through out the recent storms so loaned my generator to a friend that has lost power. I should get it back today.

Love the pic's Todd. Here on the Coast we know what it is like to be without electricity. I'm always prepared. Katrina taught me a lesson. We were without for 17 days.

Thats why I have 2 generators. One for a backup, or a "loaner" if someone needs it
