Pawlenty: Be like Tiger Woods' wife and 'smash the windows' of big government

Less than an hour before Tiger Woods was set to explain himself in a press conference, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty urged conservative activists to follow the golfer's wife and "take a nine iron and smash the windows out of big government."
Speaking to an energized crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Pawlenty tried to channel the unrest so prevalent in the grass roots.
"Patriots in this room and patriots across the country are rising up, and we have a message for liberals: If you plan to take out freedoms we will fight back!" Pawlenty exclaimed.
"We're on the side of freedom. We're on the side of individual responsibility. We're on the side of limited government," he added. "Never give in. Never give up. And let's take conservative leadership back for the rest of America."
Joking about Woods' looming press conference, Pawlenty said. "I think we can learn a lot from that situation. Not from Tiger, but from his wife."
"She said she'd had enough, and we've had enough," he said. "I think we should take a nine iron and smash the windows out."
While Pawlenty was light with jokes about the scandal-plagued golfer and in presenting his biography to a crowd that still largely does not know the hopeful 2012 presidential candidate, he repeatedly hammered President Barack Obama and offered plenty of red meat to the crowd.
Pawlenty got his only standing ovation after declaring that "God is in charge."
The Republican governor hit other conservative mainstays with simple and clear declarations, such as "we can't spend more than we have."
And on national security, Pawlenty said, "I have a message for President Obama and my message is this: Mr. President, no more apology tours and no more giving Miranda rights to terrorists."
