Beautiful!Good to see the Russians coming back.Miss the Soviets,tough buggers and we had to be good and try our best to keep ahead.Too bad numb old Ronny thought it was still the '50s and he was fighting Stalin,if the old putz hadn't basically driven the USSR bankrupt trying to outspend the US we would still have the Big Three.Instead we have the Chinese pulling ahead,and looks like we are going to be coming in second unless the Soviets make a comeback.

Dusty , old Ronny and the iron lady HAD to , the soviets where up to a lot , including internal change, the old Patriotic war crew where dying off, the new breed like gorby , where NOT Communists but scientific Socialists , way bigger ideaology conflict than many realise there .. and they had too many itchy triggers at that period PLUS europe was getting "flaky' peace protests everywhere etc , gov's getting greener etc they had to move ..

VN had backfired , the US had shown it would screw up any attempt by global communism and make it far too expencive to try in any real way , that took all the little quasi marxists states in africa out of play .. if the grand soviet had not been so cautious because of old Ronny and gone ahead with the african plans , we'd be in a way worse position and ... while it would have held the middle east a bit more stable , immigration would still see us with our islamist issues

the star wars was the last and final dagger for the Soviets, they had no real hard currency to obtain the massive technology input they required to keep up , if those funds had of been used for expansion to africa as was the plan..

and we'd be faced with the isues of african rulers in general x marxists

since we have introduced the holy land faiths to africa almost every tin pot dictator thinks he has or is the right hand of god or has a direct line

can you imagine a idi amin dada with a mid ranged nuke ?

mogabe? sheeesh

it's bad enough to think what if they had T80 or better tanks ?
