You got any suggestions on scopes good as or better than nightforce with optics with a 44mm lens my price is 2000 limit for the scope and no more. Im checking out swarovski scopes but I dont know much about there durability and quality .
I have a couple of Bushnell elite 4200 6x24x40 mil dot. Around 500.00. I have had them on rifles that push the 308 to the limit. Many years without a single problem.
I do understand if you want a higher priced brand name, go for it. I like the bushnell elites because of the rain guard. It works! YOu dont know its working till you are in the stand and realise your not dealing with a fogged up scope in the cold. Yea if you breath heavy on the lense you will fogg it up but it works.
Your choice. I can tell you that bushnell is clear as it gets.
Ok what else can i tell you. Oh yea use WARNE steel rings. Dont mess with cheap junk.
That rifle will shoot 2400 to 2600 fps with 165's If you get a mil dot you should get a chrony so you can figure you bullet drop.
I know some people are not gona like this when i say it but I dont recommend federal ammo in that rifle. Remmington or Hornady or load your own to mil speck. Fed commercial ammo is likely to have cases on the long side. Unless it is lake city. Just trust me and please no one give me a hard time about this. If you like federal fine i am not saying anything bad about it just dont use it in these rifles.
