Default Obama Endorses Deficit Task Force

Updated January 23, 2010
Obama Endorses Deficit Task Force

AP

The general belief is that the task force idea will fail since many Republicans oppose the plan as a recipe for tax increases, while Democrats worry it'll lead to cuts to Medicare and Social Security benefits.

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama Saturday endorsed a bipartisan plan to name a special task force charged with coming up with a plan to curb the spiraling budget deficit, though the idea has lots of opposition from both his allies and rivals on Capitol Hill.

I bet they will come up with this... We need to spend more to reduce the deficit. Just a guess.

Won't they create more of a deficit when they have to pay for this "deficit task force?"

But hey, that's okay. It's not like our tax money is paying them. (shakes head).

Don't any of these clowns think that they could reduce spending on things to fix the deficit? How did this guy ever win election? I mean honestly? His whole administration is a joke. But hey what do I know? I'm just a 23-yr-old blue-collar kid who has no college education or political background.

This is just an attempt to show someone i dont know who that the adminstration is working on the problem. Not that they want to fix anything for real. This is like wrapping the turd in another wrapper. The Negro knows what he is doing and doesnt really give a darn about fixing anything.

They will be quite busy trying to figure out how many ways they can increase taxes. Soaking the rich of course, those rich people that actually have a job.

Wait, it gets better. According to Politico, this so called "task farce" will not begin until after the November elections.

Quoting Politico:

"Trying to win the votes of fiscal moderates, President Barack Obama formally endorsed legislation Saturday creating an independent commission with the power to force Congress to vote on major deficit reduction steps this year, after the November elections"

One of the populist Conservative takes that I have heard expressed on Obama's endorsement of a bi-partisan deficit task force is that now that the Democrats have unilaterally given away the financial farm that they wish to bring in the Republicans in via the task force to add their implicit endorsement to the fiscal blame line. Their hope is that that will make the Republicans look as if they were in on the whole thing. Pretty slick business really.

He's creating this task force so he can tell them to direct the blame away from him. It also signifies to me that he still has no idea what he is doing. If you can't fix a problem, throw money at it. If you can't figure the problem out for yourself b/c of lack of experience, make a task force. I don't remember who said it and from were but the comment was "If you want to see how experienced someone is at what they do, see how many task forces they make in their first year at doing what they do". Right now he's up to like 24 or 25.

Obama is going to propose a spending freeze for all non-military, Social Security or Medicare for the next three years. Sounds great, right? Well what it doesn't say is that spending increased 24% already so it amounts to an 8% annual increase. Hows that sound for everyone would you take a 24% pay increase and nothing more for 3 years? Also what isn't mentioned is it doesn't apply to unspent stimulus money or money that banks pay back from the TARP loans. Those two should amount to 3/4 of a trillion dollars. How much does the spending freeze account for $250 billion or 1/4 of a trillion dollars. Smoke and mirrors and more Obozo BS. We need a task force alright one to balance the budget and start reducing the National Debt now at $12,300,000,000,000. That amounts to $55,900 for every man, woman and child in this country. Can you imagine someone borrowing $56 from you and treating you like the gov't treats us, much less $56,000.
