TET '68, Quang Tri, post enemy attack "Puff" two of them operated
from about 2:30 or 3 am until sunup flying in a circle around the enemy across the river and North (I think). We watched atop our bunkers as the classic sound of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ from the distance and the almost red tail from the constant beret of tracers seemed to be on long red light. Never will forget it. Glad it was coming down on the enemy and not me. The earth sunk that night across the river. Loved to see them, always made me feel more secure and glad, hoping it wss mowing the VC down. |
