Thumbs up Ruger vs Smith

For protection on the street, which would you carry....a Ruger SP101 .357/.38 or the S & W 642 .38 +P? (I know the 642 is lighter..) Thanks in advance for your opinions...

I'd do with the Ruger. It fits my hand better.

I'd go for the Ruger. In fact, I did, until it was stolen.

I'd go with the Smith. I've always liked their triggers better.

Swwbo's primary carry gun is a S&W 649 and she is deady with it. I don't see how you could go wrong with either the Ruger or the Smith go with the one that is most comfortable to you. Period.

My preference would be a Smith.

I like the grip, especially on the older models and the trigger, better.

I carry a Model 60 as a back-up weapon and occasionally will carry my 629 as a primary. Among other things, I like to see those wide eyes when folks happen to see it!!!!
