Hello again .
I just purchased a model 8, serial # 399056 It looks like it was never fired. The bluing is prestine, even under the slide in the grooves where it contacts the frame. There is no sign of bullets sliding up the feed ramp. I beleive it to be a 1st variation. Because of this I guess it was made between 1920 and 1939. It came in a wooden box with 23 bullets standing on end in holes. The top of the box has a brass plate without markings. 1st off-Is it possible to narrow down the manufactuing date? Do you think I am right about the gun? And do you think the box may be original? If so what would you estimate the value to be? Thanks

Are you talking about a Remington Model 8? If so, what caliber and what grade?
