Default Prayer Request

My Brother called me a few minutes ago and told me that my 87 year old Father fell today and broke his thumb and cracked his hip. I am requesting that ya'll help me pray for him.

I am glad that the bone did not break completely through. Three years ago, my 93 year old mother-in-law broke her hip then died within two weeks. I have heard that a broken hip in older people is usually a death sentence. I pray that this is not the case with my Father.

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Lord, we come before you today with a request.
George's dad had an accident which caused him some injuries.
You are the Great Physician, Father, and know exactly what is wrong, and exactly how to fix it.
This is what we are asking, Father.
Give this man a healing touch.
Cause those bones to knit together again, and remain useful and strong.
Allow strength to flow into this man along with the healing, Lord.
We ask also that you would be with each family member and friend, to strengthen them as they give comfort to this man.
We place all of this in Your hands, Lord - -

And we ask these things in the name of Jesus the Christ, the Great Creator -

Amen -

Your dad and your family are in my prayers. The good thing, is that God seldom ignores the prayers of an Old Irish Catholic Altar Boy (ret.)

Thank you all for the prayers!! I feel that the prayers were answered!!

I talked with my brother this evening. He took Daddy to an orthopedic surgeon today, it turns out that the hip crack seen on the ER x-rays was from some old injury. When he fell yesterday, he did break a tiny piece of his pelvis bone. The doctor said it would heal on its own in time and that there was nothing he could to to fix it. He made the statement to my Brother that my Father was "a tough old bird".

I already knew that myself, he survived two wars and 22 years of jumping out of planes!!.
