my cousin has a shop and did the work. I thought it turned out very nice. he does very detailed work. as you can tell my wife was pleased.

Nice buck. I doubt mine would let me get one mounted. I didnt give her a chance to tell me no on my bear rug, but I dont think I would be that lucky on a mount.

very nice! great deer! glad to see some people's shoulder mounts turn out great. my buddy got his first buck last season and had it mounted. the guy butchered it. the deer was actually cross-eyed hanging on the wall.

I would have to dig out the score sheet, but I think that is on the money. I remember 19 and 6/8 on the inside measurement and 21 something on the outside. Not the biggest ever but he has awesome color and with the little down tine and nobby base mass I felt he was worthy of the wall.

my cousin is an artist, he puts tiny drops of laquer on the wiskers by the nose to look like he's still breathing on a cold november morning. he has the veins on top of the nose raised up like he getting ready to snort. he is a true artist.

Hey if you dont mind me asking how much was the work? I know taxidermy is expensive depending on each animal. Im thinking of putting some hogs and javelina on my wall. Just to stare at when I go to bed

Very nice mount. Some real mass in the bases and I like that small drop tine. She should be very proud of that trophy.

He is $325 for a shoulder mount like this. I'm a tight wad so I figured I would only mount one that was worthy of a field and Stream cover story. I called my cousin describing it and he was kind of giving me the ole "it's not the size that matters, its preserving the memory of the hunt." So we get down there and he's like "dang, thats a nice deer. Heck yeah thats worth mounting."

He did 53 mounts this year and I saw only about 5 that were any bigger. I just don't see Whitetail here like you do on the hunting shows in Texas on the managed food plots and ranches. they pass up bucks on the hunting shows that are bigger than the biggest one shot all year in this county.

That's a nice size'd buck in my book. There are some nice one's
out this way and during the deer gun season, i visted my friend (about every evening) that does processing and I never saw much in the way of anything that was even in the 140 class.

And looking at you're wife's buck, looks like he done a good job on it and for a good price. Here, they run from about $350-$500!
Ive been doing the European Skull Mounts (just started this year) and saving people some $'s and they still have a good memory of the hunt and the animal.

He did 9 europeans, but I don't know what he charges for that. I go for the antler mount or this. I can't get into the european mounts.

this guy was only a 135 class, but like I said he had little traits that made him kind of cool and different. I know when we die he will be just another deer mount, but they do provide a lot of good memories for the one that hunted them.

Ive got my first with the gun and crossbow and both are under the 130 class and my first with the compound bow barely over the 140 class.

But very good memories of the hunt(s) and thoughts.
